Hi I'm Ken

I'm a Mormon. This means I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Saints follow Jesus Christ.

About Me

The part of me that makes me happiest is my family. Linda and I have been married for 42 years, have 5 children and 10 grandchildren. I enjoy taking them fishing and occasionally camping, although I don't enjoy sleeping on the ground as much as I used to. Linda and I met the first day of school at the University of South Carolina. Back then she had long blond hair. I knew there was something special about her but never thought I would look back and see 42 years of marriage. I always felt I wouldn't live past 42 years of age because my father and both grandfathers died at age 42. The way the story goes, Linda and I took an expensive trip out West when I was 42 and when we came back I didn't die. I'm really glad I can be here to know my grandchildren and to continue to be Dad. As a youngster, I can look back to my Grandmother Skinner as my mentor in religeous understanding. Her brother Keith was a Methodist preacher. There was never a time when I went to visit Granny Skinner that she was not taking time to teach me about Jesus Christ and to tell me the stories of the Bible.

Why I am a Mormon

I had the benefit of friends who saw me reading a book about Brigham Young. They had the courage to introduce me to the missionaries, and the Holy Ghost testified to me of the truth of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. For this I will be eternally grateful.

How I live my faith

I strive daily to follow the example of the Saviour who commanded us "Be ye therefore perfect as your Father in Heaven is perfect."

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

It is true. Jesus visited the Americas and set up his church as he did according to Bible records. He set up his church in the same way confirming that he is the same yesterday, today, and forever. "One Lord, one faith, and one baptism." Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

We regard the Bible with the same reverence we regard the Book of Mormon and latter day revelation from our prophet. It is of God and was given to us so that we might know God the Eternal Father and his Son Jesus Christ and that in knowing we can attain Eternal Life, which is God's quality of Life.  Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

I testify that if a person will study the scriptures including the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and latter day revelation, they will learn of their Father in Heaven and receive eternal life as they choose to live as Jesus did and does. Show more Show less
