Hi I'm Jake

I'm a husband, father, uncle, brother, and son. I'm an engineer and a businessman. I'm a learner. And, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have an older sister, an older brother, and three younger brothers. It was a lot of fun growing up together, and we enjoy each others' company even now as adults. I have a few brothers that live nearby, and we enjoy getting together to hang out with each others' families. My wife and I have two daughters and a son. We enjoy spending lots of time together and with friends. We like playing games, going for bike rides and walks, and traveling together. We've been to many different parts of the US and to the Far East twice. I have always been a quick learner, especially in math and science. I am fascinated with the human body and chose to study biomedical engineering. I love learning the way things work, and taking things that work and making them work even better or in different ways. I appreciate nature and this beautiful earth and value taking care of our bodies and the environments within which we live. I have an appreciation for the fine arts and enjoy singing, playing the piano and rocking out on the drums. I even converted my drum set to an electronic one to use while living in an apartment. I value hard work, honesty, humor, and service. I love learning about people, their experiences, backgrounds, and what makes them do what they do and who they are. I like helping people succeed, laugh, and live better lives. Even though I have strong German roots, I dislike sauerkraut.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents learned about the Mormon church through the efforts of full-time volunteer missionaries. Growing up, they made it a priority for us to attend and be involved in church. I have learned many good habits and things through church, but I am a Mormon because of the relationship I have developed with God, our Heavenly Father. I know I am a son of God, and have divine potential to be perfect, even as He is, and live with my family in the eternities. That's what I desire, and this religion has the answers and the way to get there.

How I live my faith

I spend time with my wife and children. I strive to be obedient to God's commandments and set a good example for my family, my friends, and those I don't know yet. I help the missionaries teach people about the church. I volunteered 2 years toward missionary service in Taiwan. My current church service assignment is to teach, train, and support the lay (unpaid) administrative clerks for local congregations in Southwest Michigan.
