Hi I'm Zach

I'm a husband, father, estimator, runner, and a son of God. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live with my amazing wife, 2 beautiful daughters, and 2 energetic sons. I completed my degree in 2007 majoring in Construction Management after serving a mission to Chile and now work for a custom home builder in Utah County. I enjoy almost all sports, watching movies, and generally spending time with my wife and kids. I recently got into running and have enjoyed completing 2 half marathons, various 5Ks and 10Ks, and a few obstacle races. While I'll never win any awards for my running, I enjoy putting in the time to prepare for a successful race and the feeling that comes from crossing the finish line and seeing improvement from race to race. It's as much a metaphor for life as anything else I do.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Through various experiences I had in high school, college, my mission, and now my family life, I have gained a firmer and firmer conviction that this is Christ's true Gospel, and that it is the only way I have to return to live with Him together with my family. First and foremost, I know that Jesus Christ lives, that He is my Savior, and that He knows me personally. I know the Book of Mormon to be true and Joseph Smith to be a Prophet of God. I know that President Monson is Heavenly Father's mouthpiece here on earth and that if I do my best to follow him I will never go astray. In a world where spirituality and especially Christianity are increasingly mocked and devalued, I feel blessed to have an anchor that will lead me through the turbulence of this life and safely into the next. While I don't profess to be perfect, I do believe that living the Gospel as communicated through scripture and living prophets to be the only true path to happiness.

How I live my faith

In my family life, I try to help my children gain a knowledge of, and personal relationship with their Father in Heaven and His Son Jesus Christ. I'm blessed to have a wife who not only helps me with this, but surpasses me in her faith and devotion to the Gospel. While I'm far from perfect, I try to set an example of what a Christian should be through my actions, words, and deeds. I try to magnify my callings and responsibilities in the Church so I can feel the joy that comes through helping others come unto Christ, while seeking to do the same myself.
