Hi I'm Tisha

I'm a wife and stay-at-home-mom. I am helping to get pornography out of our libraries and off our airplanes. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised by great parents in Salt Lake City, Utah. I am the oldest of five children and I love my sister and brothers! I am married to my high school sweetheart. My husband is the kind of man that I always dreamed of marrying. He is honest and hard working, he is a great father and he makes me laugh - plus he's cute! We are the lucky, proud and happy parents of 4 children - 1 girl and 3 boys. I am so blessed to be a stay at home mom and I love my job! My children are my jewels. I love seeing them grow and learn. I enjoy baking, cooking, yard work, sewing, reading, the beach, sudoku and hanging out with my family. “The home is the first and most effective place for children to learn the lessons of life: truth, honor, virtue, self-control, the value of education, honest work, and the purpose and privilege of life. Nothing can take the place of home in rearing and teaching children, and no other success can compensate for failure in the home.” -President David O. McKay

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because the gospel brings me peace and joy. It gives purpose and direction to my life. I was raised as a Mormon, but I've had to gain my own testimony. I have read the Book of Mormon many times and I know it is true. It is another testament of Jesus Christ and a record of people who lived in the Americas long ago. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and I am thankful for him. Jesus Christ is my Savior and I am so grateful that I am able to repent.

How I live my faith

I help teach all of the children in our ward, ages 3 to 12. I can truly say that I love each one of them. It is rewarding to see them learn about the gospel and strengthen their own testimonies. Each Sunday we sing together, read from the scriptures and learn about the gospel. The best thing about being with the children in our ward is being involved in the teaching of my own kids. It is a good opportunity to share my testimony with them!  I am helping in the fight against pornography. It starts in my own home, teaching my children the dangers of porn and what to do if they encounter it. I feel passionate about sticking up for what is right. Pornography in any form has nothing but negative effects on the viewer. It is damaging marriages hurting children. I am a volunteer for a group that is in the fight against pornography. Currently we are working hard to get access to porn out of our public libraries and off of our airplanes. As a family, we get together each Monday evening for "Family Home Evening." We open with a song and prayer, then talk about our plans in the coming week. Then we have a lesson and/or activity together, and we close with another song and prayer. Each morning we pray as a family before the kids go off to school. In the evening we read scriptures together and have another family prayer.
