Hi I'm Brigham

I grew up in Estacada, Oregon and I plan to serve my country in the National Guard. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a loving father of four beautiful children. I work Graveyard shift for the Forest Service at a Job Corps in Oregon. I have a loving wife who keeps my spirits high. I love to sew mainly quilts and recycle clothing, that is woren out, into other things. Last year I contacted the National Guard because I felt I should serve my country. they told me that I was 90 lbs. to heavy, so I am currently engaged in trimming down.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Mormon Church. I was baptized at age eight. when I was very young I always wanted to serve a mission for the Church. When I was about 15 I decided that if I was going to spend 2 years of my life teaching people that the LDS Church was Christ's church on the earth I needed to know for myself. I began to read and study the Book of Mormon everyday both early in the morning and before I went to bed. I also prayed everyday and asked God if the Book of Mormon was true and If the LDS Church was in fact his church. I did this for serveral months with out what I would call a significant answer. I remember one night after I had finished my scripture study, I knelt down at the side of my bed and prayed for the answers to my questions. At that moment the Lord saw fit to bless me with my answer. I was filled with joy. I still remember knealing by my bed and crying because I finally knew for myself that the Book of Mormon was true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet because God would give truth through a false Prophet, and I also know that Jesus Christ Restored his church to theearth in modern times. With that Knowledge I was able to go and happily spend 2 years of my life serving and teaching the people of Venezuela. I also learned that God loves us and will answer our prayers if we ask. Some people's answers come quickly others take a bit more time but they always come in the Lord's time.

How I live my faith

I am very active in church activities. growing up I was very active in Boy Scouts but with my work schedule now I don't get to participate there as much as I would like. In stead I help with the older men buy doing service and in general making sure the families in the area are taken care of. We also have oppotunities to help out the community with service projects. I teach a class at church about once every 2 or 3 months and I love it.
