Hi I'm Catherine

I am from Utah and I am a mother of four sons. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of four growing boys ranging in age from 5 to 13. I have been married to my best friend for 15 years. I am always busy working in the financial industry or running my sons to all sorts of activities mostly centering around sports, especially football.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Mormon faith but was a stubborn teenager. I didn't pay much attention to faith or matters of religion. When I went off to college I chose not to participate at all. At the end of my freshmen year in college I felt like my life was headed in the wrong direction but I couldn't figure how why. One night I felt so strongly that I needed to pray. I had never really knelt and prayed before. I got on my knees and started to pray and really poured out my heart to God and spoke to him as if he was my Father not some Being that I didn't know. I knew from that moment that God was real and that he loved me and that his Son's, Jesus Christ's, sacrifice and atonement applied to me. The following Sunday I was in Church and my life has been blessed ever since. God has blessed me through all the trials in my life. I have been blessed with miracles, patience and loved ones to support me. I know God loves me. I know that he sent his son Jesus Christ to atone for my sins. I know Christ was resurrected and broke the chains of death. I know that God has a plan for all of us. I makes life clear and I don't fear all of the things that happen in the world. I love his plan that makes it possible for all of us to live with God and his Son again someday if we just repent and come unto him. It also makes it possible to live as families forever. I am a Mormon because it gives me peace in this life and peace is the greatest gift of God and Jesus Christ in my life.

How I live my faith

For several years I taught the women in my church one Sunday each month. This was a wonderful chance for me to focus on a different religious topic each month. I got to dig deeper into these topics and it helped me develop greater faith in many areas. Recently I was asked to serve with the young girls ages 10 and 11 twice a month. I was really nervous because I don't have daughters and very little experience with young women. I have been overwhelmed by the Spirit speaking to me with promptings and strong feelings about how much he loves these girls (his daughters). Sometimes my heart is so warm and full it feels like it will burst with love for them, and I know that comes from the Spirit. I have grown so quickly to love these girls and when I see them I see women, daughters of God, not only little girls. He loves them deeply and wants them to return to him and it is my privilege to help them come to know God and his love for them.
