Hi I'm Tyrel

I am a student thinking of studying medicine. I am a Jazz musician. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am enrolled in college studying general credits. With the many different interests that I have, it is difficult to decide on a major. I want to do something that will influence other people in a positive way. Music is one way that I try to influence people. I play the saxophone, the keyboards, the guitar, and I sing. I enjoy playing jazz and funk the most but also experiment with almost any genre you can think of. I find the most peace in life when I am devoting at least a little time and effort to standing for something that I feel is important. I believe in the phrase "Those who don't stand for something will fall for anything".

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have had personal experiences in my life that have helped me to know that God does live, and that he is active in influencing our lives in a positive way. I have discovered through study and prayer that God has once again brought forth ancient truths intended to give us guidance and happiness. These truths can be found in the Scriptures, the Bible and the Book of Mormon. With the restoration of ancient truths found in the Holy Scriptures, God has also brought back the organization of Christ's church as found anciently including apostles that bare witness of the Savior Jesus Christ and a living oracle, even a prophet of God, to give us guidance from on high that is specifically relevant to our day.

How I live my faith

The most important part of living my faith is trying constantly to remember Christ and follow his example. I know that I do a poor job of this, but as I pray every day and study his word through the scriptures I hope that my life may be one of steady improvement, bringing me closer to the Lord. My faith is centered around the sacrifice that Christ made for us in giving his life as a ransom, or payment, for our sins. The faith I have in this wondrous act is what leads me to want to better myself, knowing that as I improve through repentance, I can be forgiven for my past mistakes and become something greater.
