Hi I'm Spencer

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a married father of 4 children age 6-13. I am a Dentist and business owner who works with a wonderful staff and group of patients. I served Honorably as a Medical Officer in the USAF. I love working with my hands and high tech tools and I love helping people so dentistry is a natural fit. When I am not working I love doing activities with my family including fitness and exercise, snowboarding, camping and fishing. I enjoy dirt-biking and dirt-bike racing, and mountain biking. I also really enjoy hunting including my favorite, archery elk hunting and wildlife conservation. My wife Andrea does the books for my practice and is always on the move taking our kids to various sport and music practices and games. As a couple we really have fun together and look for more time to spend one on one. I wish I had learned to play a musical instrument when I was younger so last year I stopped in at a music store and bought a guitar. Now I find little instructional clips on you tube and the internet that I try to learn songs from. I still have a lot to work to do but it is fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I love Jesus Christ he is the way, the truth, and the life. Since I was very young I have many times thought about the questions in life such as why am I here? Where did I come from? Where am I going after this life? What does God want me to do? Where is God? Who is God and why in the great expanse of the universe does he notice each of us? In each of these questions I find the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings the answer to all these questions. I know that God is our Father in Heaven and if he notices even the sparrows he is mindful of each of us. I have thought that if there really is a God he would not have put us here without a purpose and without a path. God could not have put us here to forget about us. The Gospel Of Jesus Christ in its fullness is simply that we find ourselves lost and fallen subject to sin, spiritual and physical death. Through faith on Jesus Christ we can repent because of his sacrifice for us his grace brings us forgiveness and life eternal. We can return to be with God the Father and Jesus Christ our Savior.

How I live my faith

Like all people in this life I am far from perfect for Jesus said in the new testament Mark 2:17 "They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous but the sinners to repentance." We all have need of the Atonement of Jesus. I have found particularly when reading my scriptures and sincerely praying daily that my heart can be changed. I have felt the Spirit of God work in my soul to change my disposition, losing the desire to live in a way that is contrary to God's will and being filled with love towards all. I believe that the Gospel Of Jesus Christ is fully found in his restored church. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is not a new church but a restoration of the same church Jesus himself established during his mortal ministry in Jerusalem. I know God is mindful of all his children and answers prayers regardless of religion or nationality. God works in each of our lives knocking on the door wanting us to answer his call to follow Jesus. I feel my Saviors love in the beauty around me. I feel my Saviors love when I am with my family and loved ones. I feel my Saviors love when I can give or receive service.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Spencer
In many ways Mormons live like most people. We love our families get up each day and go to work or school. I have gone to school and worked in a number of environments where I was blessed to get to know many good people of differing faiths. I have been Active Duty in the US military, graduated with a bachelors and doctoral degree from a State University and public schools. I have served as the Student Body President of my High School and captain of my High School Football team. The Gospel of Jesus Christ adds happiness, fullness and depth to our daily activities. We don't just work for a paycheck we work to serve mankind and our environment. We do our best to be honest in our dealings. We see relationships with others and knowledge as not only for this life but something that will go with us into the next life. Nowhere is this more evident than in our family relationships. I believe that families are forever. The Mormon lifestyle is simply remembering Jesus throughout the day and doing our best to live the way he taught us to live. Show more Show less
