Hi I'm Kalani

I am a Husband, Father and a Child of God

About Me

I am a Navy brat born in Hawaii, that is why i have a Hawaiian name. Raised in Nevada, served in the Navy 74-81 myself. I now live in Castle Rock (by Denver) Colorado. I am the proud father of two young men - returned missionaries (Kyle to Wisconson & Korey to Birmingham England) who are now going to BYU-I. My wife (definitely my better half) Katheryne is going to drag me into the celestial kingdom, regardless of what I do, so I am trying to make it easier for her to do so. As new "empty-nesters" we are adjusting. It just makes more time to lay on the couch and watch the tube - NOT. Our Temple Time has certainly increased. Turning 60 tomorrow, I look back on my life and reflect, it has been a good one. I just wish that I had listened to the Lord a lot sooner in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

First of all, I was raised LDS for the first 16 years of my life. Then I tried to claim I was agnostic. After another 16 years of kicking against the Prics,as Paul puts it, I followed my Grandmother and Mothers advice about looking for the right thing in the right place. After straightening up my act, the Lord blessed me with an eternal companion if I can earn that right and two wonderful boy. It would be very hard not being a Mormon, after seeing how the Lord has watched over and protected me throughout my life.

How I live my faith

First of all, I try to follow the Prophets. If ya do, ya can't go wrong. I don't do this blindly of course. The Lord has testified to me through the spirit the validity and truthfulness of the prophets. With that said, magnify my callings. first trying to be a good Husband, Father, HT. and so forth. I am learning to really enjoy being a Ward Missionary. It is really good to have a since of purpose in life, isn't it. I love being a volunteer in the Denver Temple Baptistry. It is so rewarding. Now if I could just do more Family History research and follow my Mom and Dads example of "Six Missions (four family history in SLC) I would be a better example to my kids (and future grand kids) also. As I reflect on my my life and the diffferent twists and turns I have taken, I am reminded of the Atonment and how much we really need it. We can not return to Father-In Heaven without it. I would ask for forgiveness from any one I may have hurt or wronged, or even the perception there of.
