Hi I'm Jared

I ride motorcycles. I listen to opera. I love the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a motorcycle enthusiast and I love riding both dirtbikes and streetbikes. I am a very proud father of four beautiful children and a lucky husband to my gorgeous wife. I play guitar and have a degree in music composition. I especially enjoy opera and classical music, but I listen to many styles and I am always looking for something new. I enjoy reading, especially biographies or anything having to do with history. I love to learn about the world and explore other cultures and perspectives. I am happiest in the outdoors, whether it's the mountains, the desert, or near the ocean, I find great joy being outside on God's beautiful earth.

Why I am a Mormon

Ever since I was a small child, I have known that God loves me. I have seen his hand in my life many times, and I know that he has helped me and watched over me throughout my life. I was raised as a Mormon, but in spite of this, I stopped going to church in my teenage years and fell away from the teachings of my parents. As an adult, I found that I was missing something important in my life. As I considered what was missing, I realized that I longed to restore the spiritual feelings I had when I was going to church and living the faith of my youth. I missed the daily interaction and influence of God through my participation in church. As I recognized this, I returned to church and found what I was missing. I am grateful to have an extended "church family" and interact with people who are, like me, trying to connect to God and live a life in keeping with his commandments. I now find great joy and peace living as a practicing Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith and improve myself one day at a time, with God's help. I am a flawed human being and I make mistakes every day, but I know God loves me and this gives me strength. I work at being a better father, husband, brother, and friend. I pray for help each day, and I read scripture and try to meditate on what God wants me to do. When I do this, I often feel the pure love of Jesus Christ. I know that He loves me just as He loves all of God's children on the earth, regardless of our mistakes or shortcomings.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Living a Mormon lifestyle is doing your best to live the way God wants you to live at all times and in all places. It means being part of a family, whether that's your own family, your local church "family", or recognizing that all people across the world, regardless of their beliefs, are our fellow brothers and sisters in God's family. Being involved in church activities, events, and service projects makes for a busy and a rewarding life with plenty of opportunities to serve others. But it isn't just about church and work. Mormons like to laugh and have fun and that includes when we are working hard or playing hard. Whether it's sports, the arts, hiking, camping, travel, or whatever we do, we enjoy life and find joy in living.   Show more Show less
