Hi I'm Todd Lybbert

I'm a husband, father, brother, son, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and father. I have 8 wonderful children. I enjoy coming home every day and getting mugged by the little ones. That's what life is all about to me. I grew up in the church and have been grateful for that ever since I was little. My parents taught my correct principles and then let me govern myself. Yes there were times when I sinned and fell flat on my face but with the teachings of my parents and the gospel of Jesus Christ I am always able to pick myself back up and start again. Having the opportunity to grow up in a small town afforded me many chances to showcase my beliefs. I had to be my best everyday because my peers were always watching. I am grateful I was able to show two of my good friends what I believed and watch them accept the restored gospel. Sharing the gospel is what I love to do. Along with that I love to play sports, watch anything BYU related, oil paint, golf, and play with my children.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and have a long line of Mormons in my family. I have ancestors that go back to the early days of the church in Nauvoo, IL. Those ancestors crossed the plains to Utah with the rest of the pioneers. As a teenager I grew up in a small town where everyone knew who you were and what you did. That helped me to be on my best behavior growing up as I knew I was an example of the church and my family in everything I did. I served a mission and enjoyed the experiences I had seeing people come unto Christ. I firmly believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ, as restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith, is the true Gospel here on the Earth. There is no other religion with all the pieces of the restored church as it was in Christ's day. The best way I know how to explain it to others is to think of Christ's church as a large mirror. When he was crucified and his disciples taken from the Earth this large mirror was shattered into many pieces. As churches began to grow and pronounce their beliefs they pulled from this broken mirror pieces of it that suited their beliefs. Not until Joseph Smith received his glorious vision of God the Father and Jesus Christ was the mirror put back together. From that vision he was told that the churches drew near to God with their lips but their hearts were far from Him. Joseph Smith received the Priesthood from John the Baptist and Peter, James, and John which restored the fulness of the Gospel back to the Earth. The mirror was put back together in full. We have another Testament of Jesus Christ in the Book of Mormon. It testifies of Christ and accompanies the Bible in establishing the church as we know it. I know God lives, that He loves all of His children. Christ atoned for our sins to provide a way to return back to Them again. I love my Father in Heaven and my Savior Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon is the word of God and anyone who reads from its' pages will feel the Holy Spirit testify to them of the truthfulness of it.

How I live my faith

By example. Most times people hear what we say by the way we act not the words we speak. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and try every day to be the best disciple of Christ I can be.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Todd Lybbert
I love this question. How can I know if what I am hearing about Mormons is true? My favorite place to turn is in the Book of Mormon in Moroni chapter 10 verses 4 and 5. Moroni asks us to study it out and then ask our Father in Heaven with real intent or purpose if the things we have read and heard about are true. If you do this with a sincere heart, really wanting to know, God will answer your prayer. I have done this myself. I have taken Moroni's promise and tried it out. I know the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and that His gospel has been restored on the earth today through the prophet Joseph Smith. We have all the saving ordinances that will help us return to live with our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ again someday. Show more Show less
