Hi I'm Shannon

I love chocolate, Husker Football, school and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! My name is Shannon! I grew up in a small town in the Midwest, amongst cornfields, horses and HUSKER FOOTBALL. I love everything outdoors. Some of my favorite activities are camping, ultimate frisbee and the occasional long distance bike ride. Music is also very important to me. I enjoy playing the piano and singing. I am currently a student studying Elementary Education. I love children and look forward to my own classroom some day. Family is also a big part of my life. I grew up in a wonderful LDS household with strong and dedicated parents who taught me the importance of living a Christ like life daily.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the savior, Jesus Christ and this is his gospel. Although I was raised in the church I have had develop my own testimony. Growing up my siblings and I and one other family were the only members in our school. Because of the decisions that my classmates and even some of my friends, I had to make a decision for myself about the gospel and where I stood and what my values were, because of that my testimony has been able to grow and I have had wonderful opportunities to share it with my friends and to those I love. It also taught me the importance of standing up for what I believe in and to stand as a witness of Jesus Christ. I am proud to be a member of the church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being a active member in church. That means not only attending but actively participating in church and church activities. I have had the wonderful opportunity to help plan activities for members in our congregation. These activities give members the chance to get to know one another and develop a stronger testimony in Christ. I am also a visiting teacher to three wonderful girls. I really enjoy visiting these girls once a month. It gives all of us a chance to develop new friendships and helps them see Christ in their lives and that they are daughters of God.

What is being a Mormon like?

It's finding joy in knowing in knowing that God has a plan for for me. That I am a daughter of God and that I have great worth. It gives me a great assurance that when things in life are hectic or hard, that Christ is there with me helping me, and will never leave me. Show more Show less
