Hi I'm Chelsea

I'm a music therapist, a soccer fanatic, a mom, a crocheter, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from college in December of 2009 with a BS in Music Therapy, and then became a mother to an adorable little guy in December of 2010. It has been such a journey learning how to be a mother, but like most, I wouldn't trade it for the world. I also love music, and the ways that it can touch and heal your soul. I'm a big fan of soccer, rock climbing, hiking, camping, snowboarding... the list could go on. I've recently picked up crocheting again and I'm trying to raise money for a hospital guest house that my sister stayed at during the first couple months of her little girl's life. I believe that family is everything! I love my family and all the amazing friends I have met throughout my life. My husband is in the Air Force and currently working on his master's degree. Our family motto is to have a whiz bang time, full of the spirit.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all my life. I was baptized when I was eight years old. I don't remember a lot of details about that day, but I remember the feeling I had when I came up out of the water after being baptized. I felt clean. Not just physically. I never wanted to do anything wrong again! The gospel has always been a source of comfort and joy in my life. I've had many personal experiences that have strengthened my faith in Jesus Christ and that have increased my knowledge of my Divine Nature and Individual Worth. I know that I am a daughter of God and that he loves me. I'm so grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ, and all that he has done for me. I know without him I would never be saved. I would never know peace like I do because of him. I know that God has placed a prophet on the earth today to speak His gospel and tell us what we need to know. I'm so grateful for that guidance. I'm grateful for past prophet as well and all that they have done to help build this church and to further the work of God on the earth. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God to restore the gospel in these latter-days and to translate the Book of Mormon. I'm so grateful for the Book of Mormon, and the Bible. These books truly testify of Christ and I believe that they are the word of God. I love this gospel and the joy and peace and comfort that I receive as I live righteously, and this is my testimony, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

Currently in my ward I am the ward choir director and a counselor in the Primary presidency. Sometimes it is a challenge to get people to come to choir practice, but when we sing during a Sacrament meeting and I feel the spirit, I know that it is worth it. Music is such a powerful way to feel the spirit. It's also amazing the spirit you can feel as you are teaching the little children about the gospel. They have such sweet and innocent spirits. I'm so grateful for all the other amazing opportunities that I have had to serve within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I'm always happier when I'm serving others.
