Hi I'm Carolyn

I'm a stay-at-home Mom of five. I love learning and being a mother!

About Me

I am currently a stay-at-home mother of 5. Two of my children (boy, girl twins) will graduate from high school in 2014 and go onto BYU. My 15 year old son is high functioning autistic (Aspergers). I also have a 12 year old son and a 10 year old daughter. I love to run, bike, swim, read, learn, and care for my family. I found as I tired to enter the work force, it became to clear that it was not the right thing for my family. I've found putting caring for my family first has brought me more joy than having an "outlet" for myself. All of my children teach me every day. My 15 year old son especially has taught me compassion, the stark reality that you can never judge another person or their efforts, and most of all continues to teach me the real meaning of unconditional love and patients. My husband suffers from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). He amazes me everyday as he continues to battle a level of mental and physical exhaustion, I know I cannot understand. I am so grateful for his example of perseverance. One of my first loves is running. I run almost everyday and have competed in races since I was 10 years old. I have run 5K, 10K, half and full marathon races. I love them all!! I also love to compete in Olympic distance triathlons. My time out of doors, pushing my body, is my hobby and my therapy. I also love learning, especially history!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because I was blessed with parents who taught me the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel was always a constant in our home, along with prayer, scripture study, and church attendance. I will be forever grateful for two faithful parents, who even now, continue to set a wonderful example of service to God and their fellow men. I have had precious experiences where I have felt the power and love of my Father in Heaven. I know that following Christ brings the greatest joy now and in eternity. All the truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ is found in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have felt the Holy Ghost burn in my heart many times as I have read the word of God, listened to today's Prophets, prayed, and attended meetings. These feeling have strengthened, blessed, and continue to see me through many difficult times. I believe I am were God wants me to be. That is why I am a Mormon

How I live my faith

During the school year I get out of bed at 4:45 am, to see my oldest three children out the door for a before school religion class (Early Morning Seminary). After they leave I, have some time for personal scripture study and journal writing before my other two children need to get up and going. I love to start my day with my children, with prayer, and with the word of God. This is a precious time of day to me. It brings me peace and strength. We have faced many challenges as a family, sickness, autism, puberty, puberty and autism, teenagers "stretching their wings", "stretching wings" and autism, etc. The past four years have felt like a crucible of challenge, after challenge. I have found myself begging and pleading with God for relief. The challenges continue, but the peace and relief come as I trust in God. I know he loves me and is teaching me, helping me grow, and helping me to become someone much better than I could ever be without these experiences. I hope my experiences can be a blessing to others. I am trying to forget my own worries, trust in God and move forward to serve Him and my fellow men.
