Hi I'm Katie

I'm an aerospace engineer, passionate baker, despise weeds in my garden and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a aerospace engineer who married a neroscientist. Yes, we are super nerdy. I love living in Colorado because it has the best of everything. The mountains are stunning and offer a million opportunities to get out and ski or hike or fish. I started skiing the first summer I lived here and haven't looked back since. Copper Mountain is my favorite. The city is big enough for outstanding restaurants and an amazing symphony. I have to admit, I'm a bit of a foodie and have even started growing my own produce because I the quality at the market can be dissapointing. My parents started me playing classical violin when I was 5 which really instilled a love for the classics. I love my home and my friends and I try not to let a week go by without inviting new people over to my home for dinner and some conversation. We bought our house that was built in 1923 two years ago and haven't stopped renovating since. Every room has a bit of us in it, every cranny a memory of the backbreaking effort of demolition. If I mention paining a room a different color my husband might file for a divorce.

Why I am a Mormon

This religion just makes sense to me. It is the only thing I've found that enables me to marry my analytical, practical, methodical engineer's logic with my soft, intuitive, heart. It applies to every person on earth. It includes everyone on earth. For me, it just makes sense.

How I live my faith

Daily. In every breath I take. For me, this faith is about service. It's about stepping outside myself and becoming a better person day by day. It reminds me to have perspective and think of the needs of others before my own.
