Hi I'm Karen

I'm a wife and mother. I enjoy music--especially the cello. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mom to two sweet boys that keep me busy. I love to have them snuggle on my lap while reading stories to them and teaching them something new. I like to read for myself and especially enjoy historical fiction. I am married to my "high school sweetheart" and think I'm pretty lucky! He's in school studying to be a pharmacist. We're making the best of life right now!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church and feel very grateful for the example my parents gave me so that I can remember and do that with my boys. I go to church each Sunday because I know that it is what Heavenly Father wants me to do. My testimony started as a young child going to church and continues to be strengthened as I go to church and live what I believe during the week. I am a Mormon because the Holy Ghost has witnessed to me the truthfulness of this Gospel and each of the moments that I have felt that witness are treasures that I hold dear in my heart.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving in my calling--unpaid job at church, which is helping the women 18 and older in Relief Society the women's organization by making sure they have lessons each Sunday that teach them that their Father in Heaven loves them and has a plan for them. I live my faith by teaching my own children. I read scripture stories to them before bed and help them learn how to pray. I read my own scriptures and pray to Heavenly Father seeking His guidance and direction in taking care of my family.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Karen
The temples are used by worthy members to go and participate in ordinances for themselves and also for our ancestors who are deceased. It is in the temple that families are sealed for Eternity and covenants are made that allow us to return to Heavenly Father when we leave this earth.   Show more Show less

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Karen
Yes, it is! He came to His sheep that were not of His fold in Jerusalem to teach them the gospel and the proper way to perform ordinances. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Karen
This beautiful world that we live in tells me there is a God. I know that He created it for me to enjoy and to have experiences here before I return to Him in Heaven. Life. The living and breathing of each day and that it is fragile tells me there is a God. I know He has His hands in our lives and blesses our families in the things we learn and enjoy.   Show more Show less
