Hi I'm Scott

I am a pokemon master. I like to make people laugh. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi I am Scott and I am in college studying Special Education. Basically, I'm the only man in my major! I am from California and am the youngest of four kids. YAY! I like to play Nintendo with my brothers and my friends... and my self. Super Smash Bros. is very fun! I also enjoy doing improvisational comedy, which I have been practicing since high school. I like trying to make people laugh and can be extremely sarcastic. Despite being sarcastic I am usually pretty nice... usually. I hope something that I write in here is helpful to yall!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the Church, and was blessed with a pretty believing heart. While I didn't really know if any of it was true for a long time, I never disbelieved it. When I was 13, we found out that my dad had cancer and by the end of that year he was gone. It hurt bad. But it never felt right to be angry with God or to stop believing that He was there. But I also felt like I would be lying if I said that I knew that God was there. I believed, I just didn't know. At around age 15 I started reading the Book of Mormon for myself. I didn't want to just believe what people said so I read and prayed and asked God if it was from Him. The answer didn't come the first time I read it though or the second. But I felt like it would. When I was 17 I had a couple of strong spiritual experiences that changed it all. I first received a witness from the Holy Ghost that Jesus Christ lives now and that He suffered through all of our pains in life. I later received a similar witness that the Book of Mormon is from God. From then on, I couldn't deny what I knew, so I've kept going from there. I've more recently learned that while strong spiritual experiences are good, that's not usually how the Lord answer's prayers. For a long time I expected the Holy Ghost to be more obvious like I had felt before. But really, most of the time now, my prayers tend to be answered in very small ways, whether its a small feeling or idea. Then it's up to me to follow what I felt. Without a doubt, I know that God lives and that He send His Son, Jesus Christ to save us. Their entire motivation is for us to be happy, and while life can be a real pain at times we are never alone. The Savior has been there and knows us and our struggles perfectly. If we let Him carry us through then He will lead us to happiness.

How I live my faith

I try not to judge others because its impossible to know what they could be going through in life. I aint perfect by a long-shot though. At church, I have a sort of volunteer job where I try to teach people in the area about he gospel who aren't members of the Church or may not come very often, and invite them to strengthen their faith in Christ. I also help teach a class for people who want to serve as official missionaries for the Church.
