Hi I'm Poula

I'm a wife, a mother, a grandmother and a survivor! I'm a seeker of truths and a lover of life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an avid crafter; I love to create jewelry, cards, and gifts for my family and friends. I get to spend time with my grandkids (4 of them right now) doing projects of different types. We have such great conversations while our hands are covered with paint or we are chasing beads across the table. While I hope to retire someday soon, I have enjoyed years of working with data, and databases. I love the feeling of achievement I get when I take some chaotic data and present it in a way that makes it possible for businesses to make good decisions. It feels good to be value added. I am active in my church and love to participate in the many activities available and opportunities to help others as others have helped me in the past!

Why I am a Mormon

doubted G-d's existence, I did however doubt his desire to have anything to do with me. I spent a youth dancing between self destructive actions and searching for a meaning for life and a reason for living. At 20 I was gifted with a beautiful daughter and a reason to turn away from my own pain and a desire to look out for another human being. I raised my daughter, two step children, and then a son to believe in G-d and to respect him but without any organized religion. I let them attend where they wished and find their way, while I still searched for mine. After a lot of growing on my part with the help of some wonderful people including a great therapist and then a wonderful husband who was a Mormon I decided to investigate. I was surprised at how willing the missionaries were to listen to my questions, to respect my points of view and to search to find answers with me. I joined the church because my husband was a member and after prayer I knew it was where G-d wanted me to be. Since joining the church and becoming fully active I have found love for G-d, love for myself, and peace at last in my life. I feel the miracle of G-d's love for me, his never ending patience as I journeyed from living in my past to embracing my present. I know joy now, a new thing in my life and only one of the many blessings G-d has placed in my life. I am proud and glad and excited to be a Mormon

How I live my faith

I grew up amidst confusion, family conflict and differing religious beliefs. I never I try to make everyday a prayer of thanksgiving to the G-d who gave me life and who gave his son that I might have joy and peace. I am active in my ward and truly enjoy going to the different meetings and activities. Currently I have a calling as a ward employment specialist and in this calling I get to help folks who are looking for work. I get to use a skill I have learned in my life to help others and that is an awesome thing. I also enjoy visiting with the other women in the ward and making myself available to help where I can, it is such a great feeling to know that some small action I can take can make someone’s day better. The most fun thought are the social events we have like craft days and monthly meetings where we get to get together, share knowledge, time and friendship and often a meal with each other.
