Hi I'm Becky

I love both adventure and relaxation, and anything with family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a regular mom that is loving staying at home with my nine month old son. I love playing volleyball, being outdoors, singing, and relaxing at home with games, a movie, or a book. I try to keep things at home running pretty smoothly so my husband can concentrate on finishing grad school, but am still learning a lot about housework and taking care of a baby. I have a Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology, and have no idea when and if I will continue on to grad school. Right now I am happy at home and I can see the importance in my life of just focusing on my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky to have been born to parents who were already members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was baptized when I was eight years old, and have felt continual peace in my life with that decision. I gained a powerful reassurance of the truth of this gospel through sincere prayer and in studying the Bible and Book of Mormon. I know that Joseph Smith did indeed see and converse face to face with God the Father and Jesus Christ. I have prayed to know if this church, this gospel, is true and have felt an enormous feeling of peace and reassurance. That assurance was my answer that yes, this church does have the fulness of truth. I have been blessed with peace in my life because I faithfully follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, and I know that it is through this obedience and faith that I can have a fulness of joy now and forever.

How I live my faith

At home I try to study the scriptures and pray often, both personally and with my husband. There is such a strength that we gain individually and in our marriage when we do these things. On Sundays we attend church, and I teach 12-13 year old girls lessons about the gospel and about qualities and virtues that will help them become great women of courage and faith. I also help in the women's organization by coordinating service for sisters in need with meals, cleaning, babysitting, etc.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Temples are used to do important work for ourselves and for us to do work for those who have died without a knowledge of our gospel. This includes marriage for eternity. I am blessed to have been married in a temple so that I know my husband and I will still be married even after we die. The Temple is a sacred place, a place of peace and joy. Show more Show less
