Hi I'm JC

I grew up in Georgia. I love sports, talking to people and spending time with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Because of complications during my Mom's pregnancy I was born 3 months early and weighed 2lbs 13oz. The doctors said I had a very slim chance of living. My parents and extended family did not like this answer so they fasted and prayed that I might live. Fasting is going without food and drink voluntarily for a certain period of time. Fasting combined with prayer is very powerful and miracles can occur but only according Heavenly Fathers will. Well my family fasted for me and gratefully Heavenly Father allowed me to stay on the earth and now I have been blessed to live a life with zero limitations. This is a miracle and I’m grateful for my wonderful life. I have amazing parents and two wonderful sisters. While growing up my parents taught me the importance of working hard and the importance of making good choices. I also have a passion for sports. I am an avid BYU fan. My dad played football there in the 80s and all growing up we watched games together. I started playing contact football at age 5 and I played all the way through high school. Sports are my niche in life and I am grateful for them. I currently attend college at BYU- Idaho in Rexburg Idaho. I am majoring in Business Management and I am working towards owning a company that helps others and is also flexible enough that I can spend quality time with my future wife and kids.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the church is the only thing in my life that brings me constant happiness. My testimony of the church came little by little, over time as I did what was taught to me by my parents and church leaders. For most of my life I did what my parents did because they seemed to be very happy and I concluded it was because of their faith in God. I followed them to church, read scriptures with them, and prayed with them. I saw that their lives were great so I continued to do what they did. In high school I realized that I needed to find out for myself if the church was true and if it was what I wanted to do the rest of my life. I really didn’t change what I did but I did change my mentality when participating in spiritual things. (Prayer, Scripture Study and Attending Church) I stopped doing these things casually and I started studying with real intent, really wanting to know if the church was true. As I did these three things, with an intense desire to know, my life changed. I began to love reading the scriptures, saying my prayers, and attending church. I felt the hand of God in my life every day. I came to know the church was true by first reading the Book of Mormon and then pondering over the things I had read. I have never received a visit from an angel but I do feel peace every time I read. Because I gained my own personal testimony of the Book Of Mormon and I served a mission to share the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon with others. I am a Mormon because of the Book of Mormon. It is TRUE and the best part is that each person can gain a personal testimony just like me. I strongly encourage you to seriously ask God if the Book of Mormon is true and to act upon the answer you receive. The answer will always be NO unless you ask. I promise many choice experiences await you as you prayerfully study the messages contained in the Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by constantly striving to do the things Christ would do. I’m not even close to doing Christ like things at all times but I’m trying to be more like Christ each and every day. One quote that gives me continual hope is one by Jeffery R. Holland who is a leader of the LDS Church. He says, “God doesn’t care nearly as much about where you have been as He does about where you are and, with His help, where you are willing to go.” This quote helps me not to dwell on past mistakes but look to the future with faith and confidence. I also live my faith by sharing the truth that has brought me so much happiness. Because of the happiness I felt I chose to serve a two year church mission in California. During these two years I helped others come unto Christ and helped them live more fulfilled lives. The gospel helped them change from the inside out and forsake their past and embrace a new joy filled future. Ive come to understand that if you want to be happy forget yourself and find someone who is in need and help them. True joy is found in the service of others. I’m so grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ's life and perfect example. I know this is His Church and I know it is TRUE. I share it because it can bless the lives of ALL people.
