Hi I'm Elise Osorio

I have lived in Kenya, Venezuela, Belgium, India, and Texas. I study Acting. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have chosen to dedicate my life for the next 18 months to my Savior, and inviting others to taste of His doctrine and feel the blessings of it in this life and in the life to come. I LOVE LIFE and the arts, thus my passions are acting (i studied that before i became a missionary and will continue to after my mission :), singing, and dancing! I also love sports, especially ultimate frisbee, running and soccer.I have moved around internationally for most of life, including Kenya, Venezuela, Texas, Belgium and India. I love the world, and I am definitely a people person.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have learned for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's very church upon the earth. My family moves to a different place every two or three years, and through those experiences I understand now that there are few things in this world that don't change and two of those things are the eternity of the family and the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because the gospel of Jesus Christ empowers me everyday to be a better person and help others around me. The world is a daunting place to live in, but I know that I am a daughter of God, and that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God, and with that knowledge I can get back to Heavenly Father. I am a Mormon because when I was baptized I promised God that I would always remember Him and His son, and I will keep that promise forever. I know God lives, and that He loves me exceedingly.

How I live my faith

My faith is part of every aspect of my life, it is the reason why I love uplifting music, and performing in shows--I believe our talents are a way to glorify God. I am currently a missionary for my faith, and my entire purpose for the next 18 months is invite others to come unto Jesus Christ through faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end. I also live my faith by studying my scriptures everyday, praying daily, and doing daily acts of service even if it is as small as writing a note to a friend. Part of living my faith is through my very thought-process! Hopefully my thoughts are wholesome and are turned outward, towards the needs of others--instead of too much about myself.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Elise Osorio
No. The Mormons or rather, the Latter-day Saints who are asked to serve as full-time missionaries are worthy young men ages 19 through 26. They are asked to serve as missionaries in various parts of the world, and serve for two years. Women can also choose to serve a mission, if desired, at the age of 21, and they serve for 18 months and are also assigned to work in different parts of the world. I am a young woman and I am serving a full-time 18 month mission for the Church because I chose to. It will always be my "life's mission" to help others return to live with our Heavenly Father, and to continually strengthen my own testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
