Hi I'm Keith

I'm a Canadian now living in the US, a father of eight, an entrepreneur and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of four daughters and four sons (the hard part) and a grandfather of eleven (the easy part). Although parenting is harder than grand-parenting, it has been and continues to be the most rewarding part of my life. My wife and I couldn't be prouder of each of our children. What could possibly be more rewarding than watching your children grow - learn from their experiences - make good choices - choose paths that make contributions - find wonderful companions and begin their own families? My career journey began as a librarian working in public, academic and special libraries. I helped found a library automation company and have since been an entrepreneur involved with several high tech companies in software, bio-tech and communications fields. Along the way, business partners and I began investing in hotels and hotel management. When I can carve out some free time I love getting on a bike (road). I especially enjoy it when it when I can talk any of the rest of the family into coming along.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents both converted to Mormonism shortly before their marriage and so I was raised in a Mormon home. I guess that answers how I became a Mormon but not really why I remain very committed to my faith fifty years later. There are several reasons: - personal spiritual experiences - it fully answers my questions about life's purpose and challenges - living it brings great happiness and peace I should note that "Mormon" is a label used by others. I don't find it offensive but it certainly doesn't convey what I believe. With all my heart I believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Gospel is the message that: - Jesus Christ is the Son of God - He is the Redeemer of all mankind - His teachings are the path to lasting (even everlasting) happiness - He invites all to follow Him by accepting His teachings, His ordained servants and His ordinances I find all of that in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormonism). I see it and feel it work in my life and in the lives of our family. I see it manifest in the lives of other members of the church. And, I have seen it bring peace and happiness to many, many others who have given serious, thoughtful consideration to the message. If you have read what I've tried to share this far, thanks very much! There is so much more, but I have just one last thought if you could read it too. During the time Christ lived on the earth, He established His church. It was built upon His pure and simple Gospel. He chose apostles to carry it on after His death. Over time men changed His church and teachings. That is apparent in the hundreds, even thousands, of different Christian churches in the world today. Many of those churches were started by people who saw things in their existing churches that did not make sense nor align with teachings in the Bible. Our message - our claim is that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the re-established Church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

We believe that we serve to show our appreciation to the Lord for His goodness to us and follow the example of His Son, Jesus Christ, who served where ever He went. We understand that we should serve our families, neighbors and community. One of the privileges of church membership is the opportunity to serve and and be served by others. Over a lifetime we will be given many opportunities to serve in a variety of capacities.
