Hi I'm Matt

I'm a full-time graduate student. I'm a father of three beautiful children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full-time student graduate studying business and law. I have been married for five years, and my wife and I recently had our third child and first son. When I am not studying, I love snowmobiling, playing basketball, and spending time with family and friends. My wife and I love to travel and together we have visited most of the lower 48 states. I also like to read and I enjoy fishing, hiking, and waterskiing in the summer.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon since I was born. But the reason I am still an active member of the church is not just because my parents raised me in the religion. Rather, it is because I have personally felt the witness of the Holy Ghost in my heart testifying that this is the true Church of Jesus Christ. I truly believe that the leader of our church today is a prophet of God, just as were the prophets anciently. And I am a Mormon because of the way the teachings and programs of the Church of Jesus Christ, which I believe are divinely inspired, help me to be a better man, a better husband, and a better father.

How I live my faith

I participate in my congregation as a youth leader for young men ages 12 to 18. I meet with the boys each Sunday to study the scriptures and help them learn about their devine potential. We also meet regularly on weeknights and weekends for activities that give the boys an opportunity to interact with thier peers and to learn skills that them become better men. I have also volunteered as a financial advisor for low income families in my community, and as a school teacher at a local prison. Serving others in everyday situations is one way I try to follow the example of Jesus Christ.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Matt
As a former missionary, I can speak for myself in saying that mymotivation for proselyting as a was love for my fellow men. We believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ, as restored to the earth today through prophets, is fundamental for the happiness of individuals and families everywhere in this life and in the life to come. The desire to share these life-changing truths with others was the main reason I chose to serve as a missionary for two years of my life. The other reason I chose to serve a mission was simply in response to the will of the Lord, who commanded us to "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations" in Matthew chapter 28 verse 19.  Show more Show less
