Hi I'm Joseph

I love to write fantasy. I have a collection of bibles. I love words. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a writer. For three years in a row I participated in National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo for short. I love writing about fantasy and I usually include dragons in everything I write, even if I try not to. I also love to read, which is probably why I started to write. I dream of walking into a bookstore and seeing a book with my name on the cover... and then buying that book. I admit, I wouldn't be able to help myself if I saw a book with my name. I would buy it right there. I also love to read, usually about dragons, but I'll enjoy just about any book I pick up. I love expanding my vocabulary and learning how the English language works (and hopefully soon to learn how other languages work). I love words and the ability to express myself through them. I recently started to collect bibles. There are so many different Bible translations out there and after I got my hands on one different translation I started searching for more. I like to compare and contrast all the different translations. So far, in my opinion, the King James Version stands out above all the rest. I also love to play video games, especially with my brothers or anyone who will play with me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon Family and grew up in the faith. My parents named me after Joseph Smith, and so I've always loved to learn about him. Joseph Smith was the Lord's prophet in these latter days and I've come to know that as I've studied just who it was that gave me my name. I've felt the Spirit testify to me that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that the Book of Mormon, which he translated by the gift and power of God, is true and is the word of God. I'm a Mormon because I know that God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ called Joseph Smith to be a Prophet.

How I live my faith

I am currently a Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Minnesota. I go out everyday, all day to share what I know is true with others. I will do this for two years. This requires a lot of dedication and faith that what I am doing is God's will and that I am helping his children to come unto him. I know that as I serve others, I am serving God. God has used me as an instrument in his hands to help bring more of his children closer to him, and I'm still amazed that he could find a use for me.

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Joseph
The true name of the Mormon church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Jesus Christ is the head of our church and the founder. Oh, you want to know the name of the person that Jesus Christ called to lead his church in this day and age? That would be Joseph Smith. When Joseph Smith was a young boy of about 14 years of age he wanted to know what church God wanted him to join, or which church was true. He felt that there could only be one true church, so he went into a grove of trees and prayed about what to do. God the Father and His son Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith and told him that none of the churches had the fullness of truth, that it had been lost. Over the next few years, and a few more heavenly visits, Joseph Smith was called to organize the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Show more Show less
