Hi I'm James

I'm a husband and father. I'm a financial analyst. I love the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

For most of my childhood, I lived in a large city on the east coast of the United States. When I was fifteen, my family moved to a small town in Northern Arizona. After graduating high school, I served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Caracas, Venezuela. Shortly thereafter, I married a wonderful girl from my home town. We have been married for ten years and have four beautiful children, two girls and two boys. I have a bachelors degree in accounting and an MBA. After a brief period in public accounting, I joined a large multi-national corporation as a financial analyst. In my spare time, I enjoy being with my family and working around the house. I also serve as a commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America and as a youth leader in the Church. Whether I am camping, mowing the lawn, or playing with my kids, I thoroughly enjoy the Arizona sunshine.

Why I am a Mormon

My ancestors have been members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for many generations. Several of them left their homes to travel west with the saints during the early years of the Church. I relied heavily on the faith of my fathers when I was young. However, like everyone, I eventually had to pursue my own sincere, personal conversion. This has been a life-long process. From my baptism, to my mission, to my marriage, to the birth of each of my children, God has provided experiences that have repeatedly confirmed the truth unto me. With each passing day, my understanding increases and my commitment grows deeper. Through frequent and fervent prayer, I have come to know our loving Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus Christ. As I study the scriptures and apply the principles contained therein, the Holy Spirit bears witness to me of their truthfulness. I know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ. The fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ can be found nowhere else.

How I live my faith

My family is of primary importance in my life. My wife and I strive daily to create a home centered on the teachings of Jesus Christ. We pray and study the scriptures together as a family. We seek to establish an environment of love and peace where our children can come to know their Heavenly Father and develop faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ. We try to follow Christ's admonition to love our neighbor as ourself. We are kind and considerate of others and look for opportunities to serve those around us. We attend church every week and particpate actively in church activities. As a family, we are also commited to supporting Christ's church. I currently serve as a youth leader. I support several Boy Scout units and help organize activities designed to strengthen the faith of youth. In addition to maintaining an orderly home and caring for our four children, my wife teaches a class designed to help young girls learn important life skills and develop faith in Christ. The gospel of Jesus Christ is not merely another part of our life, it is the foundation for our life, and it brings us great happiness.
