Hi I'm Amelia

I live in Texas. I love to dance. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm just your average girl working to put her husband through graduate school. Although average- I have many passions. -I am passionate about dance and bringing the joy of dance to all types of people young, old, big or small. -I am passionate about traveling and experiencing different cultures. -I am passionate about making meaningful friendships that will last a lifetime. -I am passionate about the arts and keeping them alive. -I am passionate about archiving mine and my husband's life together. -But most importantly, I am passionate about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

People like to tell me that I'm a Mormon because my parents are Mormons and that I don't know any better. Although my parents raised me religiously in the "Mormon" faith and instilled in me an amazing moral and value system- I had to decide for myself if being a Mormon was the right path for me. When I came to this crossroad, it didn't come easy. I had many things to grab my attention and pull me in different ways. But what it ultimately came down to, was reading the Book of Mormon, and praying to know if it was true. I received an answer. I didn't see visions, nor did I have some talk to me from the heavens- but it was a peaceful, reassuring feeling I had in my heart that what my parents had taught me was indeed true.

How I live my faith

My husband and I teach a youth "Bible" study class two nights a week. I participate in the choir. I check-up on ladies to visit with them, serve them, and help them feel loved. We provide meals on a frequent basis to women who've recently had babies, or those who are hospitalized and need some extra help. I volunteer each summer with the youth at Girls Camp and Youth Conference. There's a plethora of things that members of the church do, all for no pay. Why? Because we believe in it's purpose and we know that it's true!!

Are Mormons Christians?

I get asked this question all the time. The real name for the "Mormon" church is the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints. Jesus Christ's name is in our title. We ARE Christian. We believe in Jesus Christ and his atonement. We pray to our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ. He is our advocate with the Father. We believe in him. If that doesn't make us Christian, then I don't know what does. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

Mormons are referred to as "Mormons" because we read from the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is ANOTHER testament of Jesus Christ. We read the Book of Mormon along with the Bible. We believe the two books go hand in hand. The Bible is the story about the people of Israel, the Book of Mormon is the story about the people of America. To me it makes sense that there was a record kept of prophets and teachings of Christ on another continent, because God loves ALL his children. "Other sheep I have that are not of this fold."
