Hi I'm Adrian

I'm a 23 year old University graduate in Music Education and Voice Performance from northern New England. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 23 years old and have just graduated with a degree in Music Education and Voice Performance! I am a convert to the Church, and was baptized in October of 2010, and that day was definitely the best day of my life... thus far!!

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up I was really uncertain about what to believe in terms of religion, and God, and what was really true. I went to a number of churches, but nothing really stood out to me. When I was introduced to His church, everything immediately made sense, and felt completely right to me. I was introduced to the church through my best friend in college. When she told me she was getting sealed and that I wasn't able to enter the temple, I told her that I wanted to know more about her church and about the principles. I met with the missionaries, prayed, read the Book of Mormon, and was eventually challenged with a baptism date. When I got the confirmation from the Holy Ghost that this was, in fact, the true church on Earth, I couldn't ignore it, and excitedly told my missionaries that I wanted to get baptized on the date that they had challenged me to.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being the best example I can be to my friends who are not members of the Church. I don't drink, I don't smoke or do drugs, and I dress modestly.

Can husband and wife be together forever? Do you believe that families will live together in heaven?

Adrian
Yes they can, and I personally do believe that families will be together forever in Heaven. A great blessing from Heavenly Father is that of this sealing, meaning that instead of the typical line "Until death do you part" in a wedding, it's "For time and all eternity." Once sealed, you and your spouse, along with your children, are sealed together for this life, as well as the next, for all eternity. I am not married, but I know that it will be the greatest blessing of all when I get to enter the Temple to be sealed to my husband for all eternity. Show more Show less

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Adrian
I deal with this thought process quite a bit, as I am the only member in my family. Many members of my family say the Church is a cult however, I can testify that this is definitely NOT the case. People are typically uneducated about the workings of the Church. They choose to believe the hearsay rather than to listen to the members who live by the gospel. A big portion of people saying that the Church is a cult seems to stem from the fact that those who are not worthy members of the Church, or are just not members of the Church are not permitted to enter in to the Temple. Many people do not see why this is the case. Simply put The Temple is the House of God. No unclean thing shall enter... It's not that the workings of the Temple are a secret, but more that they are sacred, and we hold them very close to our hearts. Show more Show less

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

Adrian
Ask to meet with the missionaries, and request a copy of the Book of Mormon... it's free, too!! They're pretty easy to get hold of. Also, you may not know that someone you're close to is a member of the church. I didn't know my best friend was a member for almost 2 years, so if you happen to discover that you do know a member, ask them to help get you in contact with the missionaries. They'll also answer practically any question that you may have.   Show more Show less
