Hi I'm Kent

I fish. I hunt. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and a father of 2 boys. We live in a rural Idaho community and enjoy the outdoors as a family. My college degree is in Business Administration and Economics, but through life experiences and relationships I am blessed to work in the outdoors as a hunting and fishing ranch manager. Fishing would be my favorite hobbie and is a major part of my occupation as a guide on the ranch. As a family we enjoy travleing and trying new activities such as snorkeling, snow boarding, skiing, and experiencing new cultures. When I am not guiding on the ranch, I am often guiding my boys into a fish or their first hunting experience.

Why I am a Mormon

I was not raised Mormon. I found the church when I was 19 when two Missionaries invited me to listen to their message. After reading the Book of Mormon and praying to know if it was true, my prayer was answered and I knew it was the word of God. My life has been blessed by that experience and as a result, I have a wonderful family that is centered on Christ and His gospel. I now know what the purpose of life is and this brings joy, peace and hope to my life.

How I live my faith

I try to be kind to people. I believe that is how the Savior would treat others, so I try to do as He would do. In the church, I try to serve where I can. As a Bishop in our ward I learn and grow so much by seeing the good examples of others. Working with the youth in the church is inspiring and uplifting as they strive to live the gospel and grow closer to the Savior. As I live the gospel of Jesus Christ, I feel his spirit more in my life.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Kent
I found out the truth by study and a simple sincere prayer to Heavenly Father. I read parts of the Book of Mormon, then asked Heavenly Father if the message from the missionaries and the Book of Mormon were true. During the prayer and after the prayer, I had such a peaceful feeling and then just a sure knowledge that it was true. The spirit is hard to explain, but it is unmistakeable when you feel it and when God answers your prayer. Show more Show less
