Hi I'm Monte

I am the father of five daughters. I am a dental hygienist. I love to run. I am an Ironman and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 37 years old. I am married and have 5 daughters. I am a dental hygienist. Summer is my favorite time of year. I enjoy water skiing. I enjoy running, biking, and swimming and recently completed my first Ironman triathlon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints teaches this gospel and I have felt the Holy Ghost testify that this gospel is true. I am a Mormon because the principles of the gospel help me grow closer to my Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ. Some of the most basic principles that have helped me are things like faith, hope, obedience, and prayer. When I pray I know my Heavenly Father hears and answers my prayers. Prayer helps our family be closer and helps us overcome the day to day challenges of life. Another truth of the gospel that LDS people believe in is that families are forever. I know that families can be together for ever and that our family relationships don't just end at death but continue in the next life forever. I am a mormon because the gospel is not just for spiritual application but is very practical as well. The gospel helps me in all that I do as a father, husband, employee, friend ect. I am a Mormon because I know Jesus Christ lives. I know he taught the gospel thousands of years ago. I know he is my savior. I know that he died for the sins of all mankind and that he suffer for all sins and died that all mankind might live again and be able to overcome sin. I am a Mormon because I know that God has always revealed his truths to prophets, from old testament times to modern times. I know that just as God appeared to Moses and other old testament prophets, God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith in answer to his prayer. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet. I know he translated the Book of Mormon. I know that the Book of Mormon is scripture just as the Bible is. I know that both these books of scripture, the Bible and the Book of Mormon, contain the words of Christ. I know the Church is true and that it is led by a prophet of God today. Thes are the reasons I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to live my life the way my Heavenly Father would want me to be. I try to be the best father I can be to my daughters and show them by example how to live a good life. My wife, our daughters, and I attend church each Sunday. I teach an adult sunday school class. Prayer is a major part of how I live my faith. I pray daily as an individual and encourage my daughters to do the same. As a family we pray both morning and night. I don't have all the answers but I know Heavenly Father does. I find myself saying a silent prayer when I am faced with problems during the day. I encouraged my daughters to pray before tests at school or when they have trouble during their day. Even though I am not perfect at it, I try to treat others like I would like to be treated. I also try to be honest in all that I do. I believe honesty is huge in living my faith, especially in our world today where there is so much dishonesty. I live my faith by taking the opportunity to serve others. Whether it is members of our church that need help or friends and neighbors, I enjoy helping others. There is always a good feeling that comes from serving others. Our church has also participated in many community service projects as well as a couple of natural disaster clean up projects. Helping with projects like these is also a way that I live my faith.
