Hi I'm Ben

I'm from New Mexico and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a husband and father. I manage a trucking terminal for a very large trucking company. I served a mission in Brazil. I ride a motorcycle to work whenever possible.

Why I am a Mormon

So many reasons. I was blessed to share the same birth date as the Prophet Joseph Smith. No, not the same year. My parents used that fact as an opportunity to help me make sure that I knew all about Joseph Smith at a young age.  My parents raised me in the church. I always admired their commitment and saw the blessings that they received by following the teachings at church. I really wanted to be just like my dad. He has always been the smartest guy I've known. As I grew up, I realized that while my parents are great folks, I couldn't live forever in their shadows. I had a duty to learn for myself what God's plan for me is. Through lots of pondering, prayer and studying His word, I have come to know for myself that the principles that bring my parents such happiness are true principles and that His gospel, and the steps necessary to return to live with Him are found in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. I have every confidence that following the teachings I was raised with will provide a peaceful life here, and the opportunity to live with my God after this life has come to an end. That's why I'm a Mormon!

How I live my faith

My most important responsibility is to my family. I'm not the perfect example of what a husband or father should be, but I do love my wife and my children. I make it a point to have regular family prayer and see to it that my children have the opportunity to participate regularly in the various church activities. I make it a point to attend church regularly. I have had the opportunity to serve with the youth of the church for many years, and love the spirit they bring. Currently, I serve as an adult leader. My specific opportunity is to work with other men, who like me, are fathers and husbands. Some are students. A few are retired. It is my opportunity to lead them in Sunday meetings and help plan meaningful activities. I also have the opportunity to meet with other church leaders to coordinate and share information that is intended to strengthen other members of the church.
