Hi I'm Chris the Kiteboarder

I love ocean sports. I have a beautiful family, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My parents raised me in the Catholic Faith, but at 15 years old, I made some great friends at school who were Mormons. I was baptized in 1988 while attending College. I was 21 and I worked at a surfboard factory in San Diego. My life has since flourished as I have had great opportunities to  learn and grow since becoming a member of the Church. I love hearing the Prophets and Apostles speak at General Conference. The Church has helped me find true and lasting happiness as I have faced all kinds of challenges in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

After many years of searching for spirituality, I reconnected with some high school friends who had returned from serving two year missions in the church. Their stories of helping others find answers to life's big questions made me want to know for myself. I wanted to know if their church was really true. Some Missionaries taught me about the Book of Mormon and the restored Church of Jesus Christ. After reading, praying and pondering, I received an answer that it was true. I was Baptized and began to prepare for a full time mission. Now, my life has it's challenges like all folks do, but I know the way to find answers and comfort when I need it. I pray to my Father in Heaven, just like I did back in college.

How I live my faith

I live every day with a positive outlook and when I feel impatient or grouchy with others, I try to remind myself that everyone I see out there is a brother or sister of mine. It makes me remember also how much I need the Lords help to continue to repent and improve on my flaws.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Chris the Kiteboarder
I decided to test this one on myself. I wanted to feel what living the Lords Law on health was all about. So, I lived it for what was going to be a 30 day test... Well, It's been 23 years. The first thing that I noticed was an ability to understand the Scriptures with depth of understanding. Not only did I feel good, but I was able to quickly absorb how the scriptures such as the Book of Mormon and the Bible teach the very same gospel. I'm certain that the two elements of diet and spirituality are linked. Show more Show less
