Hi I'm Katie

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a photography student in college. I am married to a wonderful man. I enjoy quilting, art projects, learning, cooking, singing, playing the piano, and reading.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were members of the church before I was born, so they taught me about it all of my life through their words and examples. I was baptized when I was eight years old, and have been a faithful member since then. I am a Mormon because I know the church is true. This knowledge has come to me gradually throughout my life as I've tried to follow the principles of the gospel. As I have lived them and sought to know if they are true, God has allowed His Spirit to speak peace to my soul as a witness of their truthfulness.

How I live my faith

Jesus Christ is the one I look to as a perfect example of how I should be. I strive to be like him. Though I am not perfect I am confident that through his atonement he can make me perfect one day. As I pray daily to become a better person I feel His help along the way. I am continually in awe of his awareness of me and his willingness to help me. The love I feel from him strengthens my faith tremendously. Living the teachings of Christ has blessed me with a profound peace and joy. When I slack off in my responsibilities the joy and peace dim. When I repent and ask God to be close to me again I can feel his forgiveness, and the wonderful feelings return. I do not keep the commandments to show others how wonderful I am. I keep them because I cannot handle not being close to God. Some of the things that have brought me joy are getting married and starting my own family, caring for and serving others, being chaste, reading the word of God daily, praying, being honest, going to church, sharing my joy with others, making and keeping covenants with God, listening to and heeding the words of modern prophets, keeping my body healthy, repenting, and trying to be a better person. Because of my experiences I know that joy comes from keeping God’s commandments. I know that is the only way to find true happiness. I know God loves all of his children and wants us to be happy.
