Hi I'm Ruth

I am a wife and mother of 8. I write screenplays and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 8, three boys and five girls. I also grew up in a big family. It is sometimes crazy, but my children always had a friend at home to hang out with. My oldest son is married to a wonderful girl from Romania. They live in Northern Ca and gave me a beautiful granddaughter and grandson! Three of my daughters have been nannies in Switzerland. One son has gone on a mission and two daughters, including the one that is currently serving in Houston, TX. Only two are left in public school. Having so many kids has been hectic, but a rich blessing. I am a Cub Scout leader, over the 8 year old wolf group. I help with the teen girls at summer camp. I also try to keep life sane for my husband, who is currently bishop, and keep the building calendar. I love art. I grew up oil painting, but in recent years, I began writing. I have written about eight screenplays. I love it and hope to see some produced soon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family who has rich roots all the way back to the beginnings in Nauvoo. Two of my ancestors marched with the Mormon legion. But that is not why I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have stayed a member because I have asked myself what keeps me a member. I have studied the Book of Mormon myself. It leaves me with a peaceful feeling and helps my whole day be better. I have felt the blessings of Jesus in my life. I have felt the rich warmth of the Holy Ghost, especially when I have repented of my sins. Where else would I go to receive the blessings of eternal marriage and families, Priesthood blessings to heal me and my children, get current council from modern prophets of God? Where else would I go to learn the true nature of God and his love for me? The church is a great social organization where I feel that my congregation is my family, but more than a social organization, it is a spiritual organization where I get what I put in to it. God allows us to grow as close to Him as we want to. Not one member of my church is perfect, only Jesus is perfect, but I truely feel everyone is trying to do his or her best to follow on Jesus' path and get up when they fall down. That is all God asks. I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or nicknamed, Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am a Cub Scout leader, over the 8 year old wolf group. I help with the teen girls at summer camp. I also try to keep life sane for my husband, who is currently bishop, and keep the building calendar. I try to help in the community. I was PTA president several years at the local elementary school.
