Hi I'm April.

I love to travel, teach algebra, and play volleyball. I love my family. I love my friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My life is happy. My life is my family, they are number one. That choice is easy because my family brings me so much joy. I am a mother of three young children, and taking care of them is my full time job. There are some hard days, tiring days, but so many rewarding days, wonderful days. I went to college and earned a degree to teach math and health for grades 6-12. I taught for a few years, but chose to stay home when my first child was born. Before I was married I visited six countries in Europe, New Zealand and Australia. I grew up in a large family playing sports and music. Now I coach volleyball at a high school in the fall. I enjoy reading, learning, singing and listening to music, being outdoors, walking, and doing nice things for others. I love teaching my children and sharing experiences with them. My life is blessed.

Why I am a Mormon

I was fortunate enough to be born into a family that was already living the teachings of Christ, and attending His church, and that is how I started being a Mormon. I was baptized when I was eight, and always went to church with my family. I learned about Jesus Christ and his plan for us. I had many wonderful teachers, leaders, and friends to show me by example that living the teachings of Jesus Christ brings great peace, comfort, and happiness in this life. While I was in college, living on my own, I learned for myself that the teachings of Jesus Christ are true, His Gospel is true. I decided I want to be faithful for my whole life to the teachings of Jesus Christ. I learned for myself, gaining a firm testimony that following the path set by Jesus Christ is meant for everyone. We all have the right to choose, but we all must choose Him. Today I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior for all Mankind, that he loves each of us eternally, and that he wants each person to live with him again in joy and happiness. He knows my mistakes, but he still loves me, and He will forgive me when I sincerely repent, and change my wrongs. I know that my Heavenly Father hears my prayers, and answers them. He guides me through trials, and directs me to happiness. He allows His spirit to be with me as I am obedient to His commandments, and that is a blessing. I can learn of my Heavenly Father, His Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit as I read the scriptures. I was taught correct principles, I live them and I follow Jesus Christ. I know that my life is happy and my life is filled with joy. I have tools to teach my children how to avoid the evils in this world, so they can have happiness. I know where I am going after this life. I will live with family and friends eternally with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I have so many reasons why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith each day, every moment. The most important work that I do is in my home, teaching my children about Jesus Christ and His church. I think about what I say to them, how I act around them, the feelings I give to them. I put pictures of Christ in my home, and pictures of our family. I strive to keep my home clean and worthy of the spirit abiding there. I serve my family as I care for them by cooking, cleaning, cuddling, encouraging, loving and teach them by showing, reading, instructing. I also serve others in the church. I love helping at church when I get to teach, it might be teaching the teenagers the scriptures in Sunday school or youth classes, or the women in the women’s organization. I try very hard to listen to the spirit as I prepare lessons to present. I try to ask people how things are going I smile and try to be friendly, so that others know that there are friends willing to help and listen. I often visit other women and we talk and discuss concerns or spiritual matters, we learn from each other. I have had good experiences working with and helping others by watching kids, making dinners or cleaning the church. I try to be someone that would be a good example for Jesus Christ.
