Hi I'm Rick

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband, father of three sons and grandfather of four boys and one precious little girl. Our little granddaughter is the first girl born into our family in four generations so she is extra special to us. My sweetheart is a career school teacher and after a life-time of teaching is looking forward to retirement in several years and we both hope to be able to travel together especially to be with our children and grandchildren. My career has include banking and now airline employee for almost thirty years. I grew up an Air Force brat and lived in a number of places in the US and also in Karlsruhe and Pirmasens, Germany where I graduated from high school.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in another religion and my parents were sometimes church goers. They would always take my brother and me to Sunday School and then most of the time meet us later for church services. I learned about the Church while a high school student in Germany. One of my acquaintances at high school casually told me one day that he was being baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that weekend. Later during college i became interested in learning more about the Church and began reading a history of the restoration of the Gospel. After college I became good friends with a member and began asking questions about the Church and began to feel more and more that I would feel very much at home with the mormons. Their teachings quickly became my beliefs also and I gained a testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel and was baptized.

How I live my faith

My testimony of the Gospel has prompted me to serve in a number of callings in the Church. I know each one of my callings was according my Father in Heaven's desire for my growth and for the good I could do others as I served in each calling. I have served as a bishop and bishop's counselor, young men president and counselor, sunday school president and teacher, mission leader, scout leader, and also as a temple worker. I have grown spiritually in each of my callings and thank my Father in Heaven for the opportunities to serve that I've had.
