Hi I'm Summer

I grew up in Sin City- Las Vegas. I was born in the 70's. I am Mormon and proud of it!

About Me

I got married in 2006 to a wonderful man in the Salt Lake Temple. We eloped because none of my family is LDS. I was 20 years old. We only dated for about 6 months before we got married. We have two little girls. I go to the gym regularly, i try to eat well, i drive a honda civic hybrid, i grew up in Las Vegas, nevada, i graduated high school in 1994 in Scottsdale Arizona. I went to LDS business college, i am discovering who i am every day, I am organized, i love the scriptures, i love the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I was 17 when i joined the church, in my heart. I got baptized when i was 11 years old though. My mom met some missionaries and they asked if we wanted to be baptized. Before i knew it, before meeting the missionaries, i was at the church talking to them about the holy ghost and that i was about to recieve it. I had no idea what that meant and i was scared. I don't like ghosts. I didn't have any religion in my life when i was growing up so this was a new concept for me. My mom and i both got baptized and then never went. When i turned 17, i met a boy who asked what religion i am. I said "i guess i am mormon". Turns out he was too. We started dating and he gave me a book of mormon. Then i moved away from Las Vegas to live with my dad in Scottsdale, Arizona. When summer was over, and i had read my book of mormon, i went to school where i met a wonderful girl named Loya. Loya and i immediately became friends. I would go pick her up for school and she would invite me in for "family prayer". I never had anything like this, so i was very intrigued. I loved the way their home felt, it had a spirit about it that i had never felt before. The more i learned, the better i felt. I knew that i would only date boys in the church because they would treat me right. That boy i met earlier ended up going on a mission and i moved back to Las Vegas when i was 19. In Las Vegas, i met my husband at a church dance. The one thing the church has for the single adults is many opportunities to meet other singles. we dated for about 6 months and he asked me to marry him. We eloped to the Salt Lake Temple. I didn't want to be like my mom getting married to so many different people. I think she was always trying to fill a void that only God can fill. That is the feeling of having God in my life, having joy, having hope. I know where i come from and where i am going when i die, i know my purpose in life, i know i am loved, i don't feel alone anymore, i have people around me who truly love me and want me to succeed. I am mormon because i don't want the life i had when i grew up. I want better for me and for my family i have now. I am mormon because of the eternal views we have on family. I am mormon because of service opportunities. I am mormon because i know what it's like to not be one, and i wouldn't want that ever again. God loves us so much and i am blessed.

How I live my faith

The church has given me many callings. Right now I am in "activity days". it is a meeting for girls 8-11 years old where they learn about serving, living the gospel and developing talents. I also meet with 2 ladies in our church every month to see how they are doing.
