Hi I'm Ryan Taylor

I am a husband, family man, traveler, BYU fan, and Braves fan. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband, family man, traveler, BYU fan, and Braves fan. I live in Georgia, so I can catch a Braves game now and then. However, I don't get to see the BYU Cougars live in action often, but my neighbors will hear me cheering them on TV whenever a game is on. I love traveling to different countries and seeing the beauty of the world. I love to learn and experience different peoples and cultures. I also love a good strategy board game, something that makes you think.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I am at home with it, it is who I am to the core and I know it is the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have studied many religions and recognize there are truths in each. However, I know that this, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is the gospel of Jesus Christ. I don't know everything, and I certainly have my fair share of challenges in this life but I do have peace. I know who I am. I know deep in my heart that I am a son of God. I know that before we came to this earth we lived with God, Our Heavenly Father. I know that He sent His son Jesus Christ to this earth to atone for our sins. He is my Savior and Redeemer. I also know that Heavenly Father wants us to return to Him. I know that he provided a way to return to Him. He loves each of us and He restored the Gospel of Jesus Christ in all its fullness. This is His truth and the Holy Spirit continually witnesses the truth of it unto me.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite scriptures is when the Lord teaches us, "Look unto me in every thought, doubt not, fear not." We are on this earth to learn... so of course it's not always going to be a walk in the park. But if we look unto the Lord in all that we do, He will be there to help us along the way. He has been there for me. For over a decade, my wife has had many health concerns. For years she was bound to a wheelchair and needed assistance with virtually everything she did. Yet, because of prayer (and many prayers of others) and faith she can now walk on her own can even do most things on her own. I am amazed at how blessed we are. I currently have the opportunity to serve as counselor to our Bishop. Because of this calling, I have the opportunity to work with children, youth, and adults. The kids are the best because they will say the funniest things and teach you so much at the same time. I truly love my calling and can honestly say it is a fun and very rewarding calling. Working with each person, young or old, reminds me of how good each soul is and how every person on this earth has divinity within him or her.
