Hi I'm Stuart

I am a member of the Armed Forces. I am a closet entrepreneur. I'm a family man. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father and a family man. I love my wife and children. They are the most precious things I have on this earth. I am a member of the Armed Forces and proud to serve my country. I love to hunt, fish, and play backyard sports. I love snorkeling, diving, and am a closet entrepreneur--I'd like to start my own business some day. Funny thing is..I don't know what to start it in. But I've got the desire and I'd love to make it happen in the future. I love to try new things, and go new places. I love meeting new people.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. I always had a good feeling about what my parents taught me. Before I left to serve a mission, I needed to know for myself. I read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover. As I turned its pages and pondered the words, the Spirit spoke to my heart. It testified that the words I was reading were words of true prophets that lived on this earth, and that their testimonies were meant for me in my day. They testified of Christ and his Atonement. From that day and onward, I have received many witnesses of the Spirit that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, another testament of Jesus Christ. I know this is His true church. His restored Gospel makes me a better man, a better husband, a better father everyday.

How I live my faith

I serve among the brethren in our branch or congregation. I love each one of them, and hope for the best for them and their families. I live my faith by trying to be the kind of servant our Heavenly Father can rely on. This means living my faith from the inside out. I try to become a better person by making small correct choices every moment of every day--in my thoughts, in my words, in my actions. The more correct choices you make, the easier it gets to keep making correct choices. Mistakes will happen, but I try to look onward and upward. These choices are based off of Christ's teachings as restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. Living my faith from the inside out, means having integrity and serving the Lord with all my heart, might, and mind. Lose yourself in the service of your family, in the service of your neighbor, in the service of fellow church members, and in the service of your fellow man. The Lord works His miracles through everyday people. Try to be His instrument by looking for opportunities to serve. I think the best way to serve is to have an open heart and an open mind to how the Lord might utilize you today. A prayer in your heart, and a willing hand will help you to be an instrument in the Lord's hand whenever, and wherever he needs you.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Stuart
The Mormon lifestyle is one of love and service. When you become a member of the Church, you gain another family. You learn to love and serve others. You learn that Heavenly Father's plan of happiness includes all His children here on earth, whether they are members of the church or not. Your job, as a member of the church, is to love His children. You can do this many ways a friendly smile, service, sharing your testimony of the restored Gospel, or inviting them to church. Most importantly - love them. In a reciprocal manner, when you become a member of the church, your circle of support grows exponentially. You will find that there are many who love and care for you and your family. They are concerned about your physical and spiritual welfare. Being in the military, my wife and I have much appreciated our 'church family' wherever we have moved to. It is always there with open arms. Show more Show less
