Hi I'm Maralyn

I grew up in California, but now live in Mesa, AZ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a friend. I seem to wear all sorts of hats. I love to cook, read, workout and have fun. I am most happy being outdoors. I love nature and the beauty that is all around us. My daughter and I get up early, 5:30am, and walk three days a week. We see the sun rise on those days. What a beautiful way to start your day. Fresh air, good company and nature. I also work part time as a chiropractic assistant. I enjoy helping others and appreciate natural and alternative ways to heal and help yourself. Having good health and taking care of yourself, physically, mentally and spiritually is so important. Keeping your lifestyle simple and enjoying the journey is the way I like to look at life. Our family has endured a few huge trials in the past couple of years. Our third daughter passed away unexpectedly when she was twelve. She had a brain tumor that we didn't even know she had and passed away while we were on vacation. This was extremely difficult to understand, how a perfectly healthy young girl is just taken. She was playing and laughing the day before. Then, three years later, our second daughter went missing and hasn't been seen for nearly three years. Our faith in Jesus Christ and love from friends, family and others helps us to get through these rough times. Our family has grown closer. We have such a different outlook on life and how trivial things just don't matter. It's our families that matter. We know we'll be together again.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in a Latter Day Saints family. It wasn't until I was a young adult that I really came to know and have a testimony. I strayed away from the gospel for a few years. Those years were really rough. I made some choices that weren't very good. Luckily for me I had parents that showed me the utmost love and kindness and prayed for me constantly. I learned some life lessons and finally decided that my way wasn't that great. Gaining a testimony of Jesus Christ for myself and not leaning on my parent's testimony was the best decision I ever made. I was humbled and very grateful for a loving Father in Heaven and Savior, Jesus Christ, who welcomed me back with open arms. I made the right choice in growing in the gospel, learning all that I could and coming to understand that God's plan is the Right way. The commandments are for us. They keep us safe from the world. Having these guidelines and the gospel foundation, a plan of happiness from God, is why I continue to follow and be a part of this religion. I love being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to live my life in a way that would please Heavenly Father if He was standing right next to me at any given time. It means that the places I go are good, the things that I watch, read or listen to are good. Being an example to those that I am around is the best way that I know of to live. Having charity and a loving and open heart to people that we meet, without having judgement is what I try to do. Everyone is a child of God. Forgiving those that have done wrong to you is vital. Most of them don't know that they've offended you. Reaching out to those around you that need a spiritual lift. Sometimes it's just a smile or saying hello and acknowledging them. You don't know what is happening in their lives. These are some of the ways that I am trying to live my Faith.
