Hi I'm Valerie.

I grew up in Utah. I am a triathlete and a piano teacher. I'm a mom and a wife. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 8 years, and most of that time my husband has been in college or graduate school! We have three super active and fun children. I have a degree in Music and love teaching piano. I also enjoy outdoor sports and am a triathlete.

Why I am a Mormon

I am the youngest in my family, and my parents became members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints a few years before I was born. Some of my siblings are members of the church and some are not. I remember clearly when I left for college that I neglected to read the scriptures for a little while (something my parents had always initiated for our family). I felt like something was missing in my life! When I started reading and studying the Book of Mormon and other scriptures daily, I felt peace and happiness. I have prayed about the gospel principles and have received answers from my Father in Heaven. I know that the principles and ordinances of this church will allow us to live eternally with God, Jesus Christ, and our families.

How I live my faith

I help to organize music for events in the smaller group level and then on a larger level as well. I coordinate the musical selections, performers for special numbers, and the musicians. Occasionally I help with training others who help out with music in the church as well. I also get the wonderful opportunity to go out with another lady and visit some ladies in our ward, to check on how they are doing in everyday life, and to give them a spiritual message.
