Hi I'm Marika!

I am a full time student. I love music, sewing, and teaching others. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full time student, working on a triple degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, and Social and Behavioral Sciences. I love music- I play a little bit of piano and violin, I direct the young single adult choir in my area, and I sing with whomever will indulge me. When I have the opportunity to do so, I enjoy quilting and altering clothing. I love being outdoors and sharing my knowledge with those around me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a home with parents who loved me and taught me the gospel of Christ. From an early age I knew the commandments and steps that I needed to follow in order to return to live with my Father in Heaven. Having my parents' encouragement to follow these teachings helped me to be strong in resisting the temptations I was given as I grew up. Even with this love from my parents, it wasn't until I searched and prayed, asked and truly listened that I gained a testimony of Jesus Chirst and of His gospel. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I have learned of the truth that it holds. I know that it is through His attonement that I am, and will continually be forgiven of my sins as I repent and strive to keep His commandments. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and was inspired from on High. Just as Joseph spoke through the Spirit of God, there is a current prophet, Thomas S. Monson. I know that my Father in Heaven has a plan for me. I know that I lived with Him before, and that Christ came to the earth to give us the opportunity to return to live with Him again. I know that God knows me, and He knows you. I know that He loves each of us, and that we will not be given any trial that is beyond our abilities. I know that He is always here for us, and that as we pray with faith and sincere intent that we will feel of His love for us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith each day through my outward appearance, the choices I make, and my interactions with others. I attend church with other young members in our area each sunday, and a class during the middle of each week. I serve in our church by planning activities for the women's group, and by visiting with sisters in their homes each month.  On a personal basis, I try to study a section of scripture each day. I speak with my Heavenly Father often, and whenever I want or need to feel His love.
