Hi I'm Brad Whitcomb

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Pilot and Flight Instructor. I have flown beyond Mach 1, as high as 55K feet, and over both the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. Over the Pacific I had 8 engines, but over the Atlantic I had only one little 230hp engine. I had to have faith in my machine, my skills, and in God’s love for me. I know that God knows me and is concerned about me and my family of six children. I should mention that these huge thrills in my life, pale in comparison to when I first held each of my six children in my arms. God and Jesus Christ, Family and Country are my motivating factors. Life is good beyond all my expectations. Joy is found every Monday night reading the Book of Mormon with my children.

Why I am a Mormon

I read the pamphlet “The First Vision” when I was 12 years old. I immediately knew it was true. God had restored His Gospel and the Church of Jesus Christ through a 14 yr old boy in the land that He preserved for the restoration and within the Country He raised up for the restoration. But, I was my Mother’s perfect little acolyte. So, I waited 9 years to be baptized by one holding the Priesthood of God. Now, I want to share my joy in the Gospel with the entire world. It is such a happy moment when I share the source of my happiness. Every Sunday I can be found in church. In an LDS Ward because I am spiritually nourished, lifted, and strengthened to handle all that might come my way. It makes me feel good. My family belongs to a Ward Family, and we are loved in that larger family. It is a fortress in the storm. My hearts aches to share this joy with you. My Father died recently and I did not fall to pieces because I KNEW we will be together again. Joy and peace is the gift the Gospel brings.

How I live my faith

I am found serving within my Ward [body of people who live within a specified area and meet together] every Sunday. We all work together to earn our individual salvation. I love and cherish my Wife and children. I actively look for opportunities to help others, both temporally and spiritually. Service brings a very special joy. God wants us to "cloth the naked, feed the hungry, and teach the Gospel". I believe this is done eyeball to eyeball; not via some government program that leaves people feeling guilt.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Brad Whitcomb
In some ways, such as his marterdom, he is like Lincoln, Kennedy and King. I feel about them in the same way I feel about Joseph Smith; but just a bit more loving. But certianly not worship! We worship Heavenly Father and do all in the name of Jesus Christ our savior. Show more Show less
