Hi I'm Kim

I love music. I teach math. I love my family and friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a math teacher. I teach sixth grade as well as college students online. I'm kind of a nerd about math, but I love a lot of other things too. I love music, singing, crafting, and blogging. I like to think that life should be a little whimsical. Mostly, I love spending time with my family and friends. I've been married to my husband for a little over 2 years and we're expecting our first baby. We love going on adventures together. I also love making exciting plans for the future. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the LDS church. It was definitely always a huge part of my life. I think there comes a time for everyone, though, when they have to decide what they want for themselves. That time has come for me and I choose to be a Mormon. Being a Mormon is an essential part of who I am. The knowledge I've received about who I am and what the purpose of my life is have given me happiness and peace. Life can be crazy sometimes. It's changing all the time. The gospel of Jesus Christ has been a steady constant. I always know God's there, watching over me, guiding me through. I'm a Mormon because God has told me through His Spirit that this is the truth. This is what will bring me happiness now and in eternity. I know that this church is true. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know that we have a living prophet on the earth today. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. Through His atonement, I can repent and become who He knows I can be. I've prayed and asked Him if these things are true. He answered my prayers and I receive that witness again and again in my life as I live His teachings.

How I live my faith

I hope I live my faith in everything I do. Christ taught that we should love and serve those around us. That is the basis of how I live my faith. In my career I have the opportunity to work closely with young people. Helping them learn and discover new ideas is a rewarding process. I'm also grateful for the unique opportunity we have to serve others within the church. I'm currently a leader of a group of girls ages 12-18. I meet with them on Sundays for lessons and during the week for fun activities. (We do service, cook, learn new skills, and just have fun together.) I visit with women personally in their homes where we also have a chance to strengthen each other and just be friends. If I can help another person to feel God's love for them, I am living my faith.
