Hi I'm Martha

I enjoy life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My greatest joy in life is my family. I have seven children, eight grandchildren and more on the way. I love sports, photography, and people.

Why I am a Mormon

One of the things I prize is truth--eternal, unchanging truth. It is the perfect standard by which we can govern our lives. I have found truth in the principles taught in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Living by these principles has brought great happiness, success and peace into my life.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon is a lifestyle. I strive each day to commune with God and listen to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. I try to teach the gospel to others through my example and through words of encouragement. I love to help and serve others. Much of my time is spent reaching out to others so they can feel the joy that the gospel brings. Presently I am serving as the Relief Society President which means I serve about 140 woman and their families. They each feel like a sister to me.

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Martha
Jesus Christ is actually the founder of the Mormon church. The church is actually called "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints". In these latter-days, Jesus Christ restored the church that he had formerly established during his mortal ministry. He accomplished this restoration by calling a young boy to be a prophet and giving this prophet the authority to restore the principles and ordinances of the gospel that had been lost throughout the ages. This boy's name was Joseph Smith.  Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Martha
Pure truth comes from God. If we want to know if the Mormon Church is God's church, we must receive that answer from Him. He has shown us how to get that answer. It is an easy process but one that must be followed if we are to know for ourselves. First, we must sincerely want to know. In our heart we must be willing to act upon the knowledge God gives us. In other words, we must be willing to embrace the gospel if we discover that it is true. Second, we must study it out in our minds. Reading the Book of Mormon is a good start. God has provided that book as a witness that the Mormon Church is His church. Third, we must ask God to reveal the truth to us. He will do this by the power of the Holy Spirit. We will feel our mind enlightened, our soul enlarged and our new found knowledge will fill us with joy. If you follow these steps than you can say as I say "I know Mormonism is true!"
