Hi I'm Debbie

I grew up with 3 handicapped brothers and a sister. We learned to love one another regardless of difference or opinion.

About Me

I am a Mom of 6, enjoy taking walks and reading good books. I love to garden and feel the sun and wind on my face. I love trees and the majestic feeling and reassurance they bring. I know Jesus Christ created the Earth. I love hiking! I love music and friends!

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Because I grew up in the Gospel, the teachings were within my reach and I have learned to value them incredibly as I am now older. I have realized it takes more than opportunity to become converted. Conversion is the desire of our hearts. My own heart had to be converted, and I needed to choose to love the Lord because of the knowledge I had been given. Because I had been given so much I knew that I had so much more to give. My own conversion has taken years of consistent daily study, prayer and personal trials to strengthen me. I will always be grateful for the blessings of the Gospel in my life.

How I live my faith

I try every day to live like the Savior. This means I pray on my own and with my family. I study the scriptures. It means I choose my words carefully and with purpose. I try to serve others without thinking of myself or what I'll gain. I keep the commandments. I love the prophet, Thomas S Monson. I support and sustain him as the living prophet today.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Many people and prophets of Ancient America wrote their histories and recorded important teachings and experiences. They passed these records down through thier family or sometimes a trusted individual. Mormon was given this charge as a young man and collected the records during a time of great war. Mormon took their words and compiled them into what we know as the Book of Mormon. He abridged and added his own testimony at the end of the book and later handed the plates or records to his son, Moroni, who kept them and recorded the destruction of his people. Before he departed Moroni buried these plates, later to be discovered by Joseph Smith.  Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

We should have faith in our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost. They are the only true source of light we can follow regardless of how others stand around us. It is a privilege to know we have the light of Christ to direct us and guide our paths. After we are baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, we are each given the gift of the Holy Ghost, a member of the Godhead. I have faith in God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. Show more Show less

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

As a wife I try to be supporting of my husband, even if I do not always agree. My husband works hard to provide for our family, often 12 hours a day. We remodeled a home to fit our family and it was work. He taught our children how to work not only by example but opportunity. Because of him, I can stay home and create a happy place for our children. Show more Show less
