Hi I'm Erika

I'm mother of 7, I love music, classic literature, holistic family care, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a horse farm in the midwest. I loved the freedom and challenges that came with farm life. My family is very musical-everyone sings, and plays instruments, and we love to get together and share our musical talents. I met my husband at BYU, where I studied comparative literature. After we graduated we moved to California. I enjoy helping others as I teach violin lessons & holistic family care. We now have 7 children, and we are enjoying this very busy time of life, as we help our children find and develop their talents!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon home. We were encouraged to read the scriptures and pray and develop our own personal relationship with God. When I was a teenager, I prayed to ask whether the church was true, because I wanted to know for myself. I received an answer - that I already knew it was true, and had learned to know the truths of the gospel little by little since I was a child. I felt so happy that God loved me enough to remind me of that which I already knew. I have received so many answers to my prayers throughout the years, some have come immediately, some I have had to wait for. I know that God lives and loves all of his children. I know Jesus Christ came to the earth, taught his gospel, suffered and died for us, and was resurrected so that all of us can have that same blessing. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet called by God to restore His gospel on the earth. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only church that contains all revealed truth.

How I live my faith

For years, I have been involved in the children's programs at church. I love children! Many times when I am teaching them - I learn from them as well. Little children are so close to God, and have such wonderful testimonies of their own. My favorite scriptures are those that show how much Jesus loves children. It is my joy to love, teach, and encourage so many of God's children.

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Erika
Mormons are Christians and as such we follow Jesus Christ. You can find in the bible that Jesus was baptized himself. The first step we take to follow Him is to be baptized and make promises with God to keep his commandments. Show more Show less
