Hi I'm Dean

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 33yrs old. I am a father of three young boys, all under the age of 8. I enjoy spending time with them building puzzles, reading books, and playing games. I likewise enjoy running and playing disc golf. I ran X-Country and Track in HS and participated in these sports in my first year of college as well. In Track, I ran the 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, and the mile. I was able to run these events fairly fast back then, and my goal now is to get back into the habit of running again on a regular basis. Disc golf is a sport I started playing about a year ago, when a couple friends introduced the game to me while our families were hanging out at a park. Since that day, I have not been able to put the disc down.

Why I am a Mormon

Each time I read the Book of Mormon, hear the church leaders speak, or say my prayers, I feel the Spirit, and that is something I like to feel as often as possible in my life. There are many things that make me feel good temporarily, but the things I have described above have helped me feel good throughout my whole life.

How I live my faith

Currently, I spend time with the young men, aging 12 to 18. That includes spending time with them on Sundays in church, as well as for other activities throughout the week, such as boy scouts.

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

Because we want to be able to serve and help others, and that is more possible when we have our lives in order and are not dependent on others to help us. The same is the case regarding emergency preparation. We want to be in the position to serve and help others. Show more Show less
