Hi I'm Lance A

I am a Mormon and a convert in the church, I grew up in Olympia Washington and made a career in the Navy.

About Me

I am married with grown children and still serving in the US Navy, I enjoy the outdoors, camping, rock collecting and all sorts of family activities.

Why I am a Mormon

I was very unhappy with the church I was attending so I started searching and at the age of 17 I was introduced to the Church by a girlfriend in High School. The gospel answered the basic questions of life for me such as Why are we here? Where did we come from? and where are we going? It also made clear to me what the mission of Jesus Christ was on the earth and the characteristics of the "Trinity". I believe God loves all of us who have ever walked the earth. That he talked to prophets anciently and still does today. I have also come to know and appreciate the Prophet Joseph Smith and his role in the restoration of the gospel in these latter days. These were concepts I did not understand before joining the church. The Book of Mormon has been a source of strength to our family, and through reading and studying it has helped us find the answers to every day problems. I believe we have found a clear path on what we need to do to return to our Father in Heaven. Since joining the Church I have become a much better person and also a better father and husband.

How I live my faith

We attend church regularly and have held positions in all the Wards we have lived in. We have worked worked with and taught the youth at Church. The Church is one of service so it has always provided a way for us to serve in various ways. Through monthly visits we have also had the opportunity to look after families in our local area in a program called "home teaching". This provides the opportunity for members to look after one another on a monthly basis. This was a great comfort for me to know that when I was deployed at sea there would be church members who would regularly visit my family to check on their needs.
