Hi I'm Jordan

I'm a university student. I have three little brothers. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a university student majoring in Economics and minoring in Japanese. I have three little brothers, and great parents who have taught me much. I love sports, and my favorite to play and watch is basketball. I also enjoy camping, hiking, and many other outdoor activities. I plan on getting an MBA after graduation and some work experience, and am interested in international economic development and the financial services industry.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents are active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and I have had the opportunity to learn of Christ's teachings from my childhood. As a child, attendance to church was a family event, so I went along. However, as I grew into my teenage years, it became much more than that. I had a seminary teacher that challenged us students to make a commitment to read at least one verse of scripture a day when I was 14 years old. I began to do that, and the more and more I delved into the Bible and Book of Mormon, the more I felt the truthfulness of the things that I had been taught from my childhood. I began to gain my own conviction of the teachings of Jesus Christ, and began to recognize the incredible blessings that come from a life based on those teachings. Such a lifestyle brought to me greater peace, greater confidence, and a greater desire to be kind to and help those around me. It is because of the experiences I have had living the teachings of Jesus Christ as well as the communications I have received through Holy Spirit concerning those teachings that I have a conviction of the truthfulness of His gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to follow the example of Jesus Christ. Sometimes the assignments and deadlines of school, internships, and other responsibilities struggle for my attention, but as I remember the example of Jesus Christ, it reminds me to make sure that I set God, my family, and others as the highest priority in my life. I organize activities for and teach gospel lessons to a group of 18-28 year old university students who are also member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the university I attend. It is great to hear their experiences and learn from the things they share as we discuss the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I don't receive any monetary compensation for the work I do, but I feel that the service I give is rewarding, both psychologically and spiritually.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

The Holy Ghost is in perfect unity of purpose with God and Jesus Christ. As we live the commandments of God and follow the example of Jesus Christ, we can be guided and directed by that gift. The Holy Ghost will tell us what God and Jesus Christ would have us do in situations where we need guidance. The guidance of the Holy Ghost has helped me make many important decisions in my life, even concerning everyday things like dating or school. It is comforting to know that I can receive personal revelation from God, through his spirit, regarding specific things I am experiencing. God knows the intricacies of the situations I am in perfectly, and He can teach me the best thing for me to do through the power of the Holy Ghost.    Show more Show less
