Hi I'm Angela

I have lived most of my life with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. I have four kids, love life, and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah, have loved music my whole life, and have always loved to talk with and meet new people. I started in with psoriasis at the age of 13. I have fought it my whole life. There were times in my life when it was under control, but after each pregnancy it grew worse and worse. I then started in with psoriatic arthritis when I was 28. It also had flair-ups and grew worse after each child. I now struggle with pain on a daily basis, and even the smallest new action a joint does i.e. using my thumb to turn pages on my kindle app causes my immune system to attack it, and do damage to it in a short amount of time. I am learning to deal and live with these, but love the life God has given me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Mormon faith, but at some point in my life had to decide if it was really the way I wanted to live. At the age of 13, or 14 I went to a mormon devotional and felt a really warm happy feeling. One, that at the time being a teenager and trying to find myself, I had not felt in a long time. I had learned early in my youth that if I wanted something I only needed to ask God. I really wanted to have that feeling of love and warmth with me my whole life, and knew I needed to ask for it. I prayed to God to help me be able to have that feeling, and he did. I knew then that I was not alone, and that God was real. I have never looked back since.

How I live my faith

WOW! This is a hard, but a great question. To me, my whole life is my faith. It helps me in my marraige. It helps me raise my children. It helps me in all of my different relationships. It helps me in any task I do, or challange I face. I use it as a guiding tool for all of these things. I love to serve in my faith. What a great way to make our own challenges seem light. Right now I get to serve as an assistant den leader in the Cub scouts of America. What a neat thing to meet with these boys each week and help to mould them into responsible, respected men. So, all in all, I feel that because of my faith I am who I am today.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is a compilation of personal stories, revelations, and learning experiences from prophets that lived on the American continent hundreds of years before and after Jesus Christ was on the earth. It was re-written on gold plates by a prophet named Mormon, and then hidden by his son till a future time when they would be discovered by a modern prophet. They were given to Joseph Smith in 1827 by that same person now an angel who hid them origionally. Joseph, through the help of God, translated the plates from their ancient text into english. How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

I use what I have learned in the mormon faith constantly. I feel closer to my husband when I use its teachings and principles, and I know, I have a better relationship with my children also. My biggest principle that I use is Love. But that only scratches the surface of the great blessings that come from living my faith. By the way, I have been married for 16 years, not all perfect, but we love each other more now than when we were first married and I have four wonderful children ranging from 4-14 yrs. They are a challenge, but one that I have grown to love through my faith. Show more Show less
